Okay, so drinking water is an important step for fitness. How much water is the right amount to drink?
64 ounces of water is the right amount of water to drink per day. 64 ounces is half a gallon; that's roughly 8 small cups. It's actually more than you might think. Most people only drink half of that and some people get all of their water intake from food and pop. The problem is that they don't have a habit of drinking water and that's what they need: a habit.
There are a couple of things you could do to make sure you drink enough water per day. First, you should make sure you're measuring accurately. This is easily accomplished by either filling a gallon jug with water and seeing if you drink it within 2 days. I find that it's easier to fill some water bottles from the tap. 4 water bottles at a typical size of 16.9 ounces is about the right amount of water to drink.
Try to drink water steadily throughout the day. If I had 4 water bottles, I might drink one before breakfast, lunch, dinner, and sometime before bed. Not only will this start to form a healthy habit of drinking water, but it'll cut down on the amount of food you eat in each meal.
